Did you know Data Centers pay 3 cents for electric per kilowatt hour and Denver citizens pays 15 cents?
The largest of data centers are informally called hyperscale. QTS-Aurora, which is near the intersection of I-70 and E-470, certainly qualifies. The data center requires its own 230-kV transmission line from an Xcel substation to deliver 177 megawatts of electricity.
To put this into perspective, Boulder altogether needs 250 megawatts, according to a fact sheet distributed by the Colorado Renewable Energy Society last week to state legislators

Climate Lobby day
Friday, March 17th from 8:00AM to 1:00PM

Low carbon concrete is at a tipping point

I personally spoke to the Community Relations Team Leader at the ECMC (the commission that decides on fracking) last week, and she told me they want to hear from us. Showing up means writing letters to the ECMC here is a link, showing up in person and calling when there is a complaint!

Who is doing what?
We are starting to ask businesses near the reservoir for sponsorships. Today I visited 8 businesses. 2 of the receptionists I spoke with did not even know what fracking is. Not one person knew about the fracking that may start soon. I was astonished. Hopefully I can visit more businesses this week and spread the word!
Also sooooo busy! Working hard on promoting Climate Lobby Day on March 17th. Be there!
Yikes. I was on a Zoom call with them this morning. So many bills being decided upon, rolling back about 20 of our hard earned rules, such as getting rid of plastic bags at the grocery store, Click here for more info
This call is also where I learned that data centers pay 3 cents per kilowatt-hour, Denver pays 15 cents. What!!!
